DN-002-Clearance

**Notes on Past Events**
Associated posts will be linked below. Audio visual notes to follow and to be linked.

Today, I had a meeting with Boss about exactly what the definition of my clearance for posting will be. There’s a lot to consider. Time periods. Language. Imagery. Parameters of what has happened beyond their scope of time, or mine in the present moment. A lot.

I mean, time travel in general has its inherent complications, with multiple timelines and alternate realities that split off each time even the smallest incremental thing changes. Hence why we’re really trying to figure out a minimally invasive approach. Especially because there are a lot of benefits from it too for smaller missions and research time period acclimation. It’s almost like a virtual interactive library. Just gotta find a balance without, you know, imploding a planet or something in the future by accidentally posting my pizza dinner instead of spaghetti and meatballs. It’s wild how those minor choices expand into vastly different realities.

In getting into it, and scanning the history of the timelines, we decided to start at the most sensible place. When X became X. That’s when things started getting really interesting and accurate as well. You know instead of earlier in that timeline. To be honest, no one up here really knows what happened down there during the period of time before. So many lies, history was written only by the victorious and a lot were acting under this facade of what they thought their reality actually was. I’m not sure there would be much value in going in earlier than then the rebrand to be honest. I really should be collecting the most accurate information for my own understanding, so that my perspective on tapping into related research that isn’t skewed.

In our discussions, we talked about how this could be a good opportunity to connect and understand the population of Earth without needing to worry about being dissected by the FBI and studied. We could theoretically do it from the comfort of Mars. And maybe.. even just maybe… have them understand us. I mean we’re really not a threat. We’re just them from the future. Well, most of us that is.

That afternoon Boss gave me the ability to post from Mars and to interact with the people of Earth.

So that brings us to the start. I reposted some things I thought were interesting, scary, funny and some that were just concerning. When I finally drummed up the courage to interact with the world as me, a girl from Mars, I posted my view of Earth.

So far we didn’t need to worry about anyone catching on to us, as those couple posts had zero interactions. I don’t even think the ones who did interact were real people. Turns out Earth has robots too.

I then posted the sunrise, something that I think connects us all, at least in this solar system.

The next post was the giant pink “Welcome to Mars” billboard I made to welcome anyone who wants to visit. We actually just made it a few months ago and I was really proud of it. No one wanted to make it pink, they said it was obnoxious, but I was able to get it approved after putting in some extensive research as to why neon pink would be the most advantageous for the project’s objectives. If you’re going to have a welcome sign, it should really stand out. Neon pink, in a world of a muted color palette, achieved that. I paired it with “I hope one day you’ll join us and our worlds will live as one.” and.. I mean… I thought that was a nice touch. But that’s me. I’ve always been a fan of The Beatles. You have no idea how much retro music we have up here.

Once I started to get warmed up with posting, It was actually kinda fun and I got over the fear of sending information into the vastness of the internet. I thought Earth might like to know some fun and useful information about Mars. I figured they might find it cool because… you know.. I did. So I explained to them how Mars days and Earth’s days are almost identical despite there being such a disparity in size and distance from the sun. Really, the odds of those lining up so well, to create similar days, is really remarkable.

I continued to post a little bit more about myself, what I do up here, what my typical day is like.

I told them about my pet hamster, Potato. I told them that I am a Xylophlorian, which is basically a botanist up here. It’s kinda a dream job for me even though most people would probably find it a little boring. Really basic stuff. I didn’t want to go too far into what we have been doing up here. I figured I’d ease them into that.
