DN-017-Stellarflora

I stood up and gathered everything back on my desk. Shook things off. Adjusted myself and started the new day. I had to get the corolites back into an adequate atmosphere before they started showing signs of stress. Plants are funny that way. After going through a period of inadequate environmental situations they either die or come back stronger. It all depends on the situation and the plant. Regardless, we didn’t want to mess with their inherent properties so we had to get them taken care of.

For these, I’m going to use our cylindrical terrarium pods. They can hold both extremely densely hydrogenated atmospheres along with water. Honestly, they seem to do well in both but I have noticed they thrive in water. It allows them to move around a little more freely because of the inherent properties. It’s how they were found. Their native environment.

When I put them in they took on another worldly almost angelic or maybe even ethereal energy. They glided through the water without limitation. The glow that they emanated diffused pulses of light into the water that contained them. All glowing together to create an otherworldly symphony of visual choreography.

I could tell they were at home and at peace. Something about it made my heart feel full. I swear we are all more connected than we know.

Once they were all set, I moved on to the next set. Setellarflora.

Stellarflora are basically like space flowers. You have them on earth. The objects of these are very similar to what you have on Earth. We call your “flowers” stellarflora too here. It’s just a way of categorizing them in a group outside of what is specific to Earth or what we are growing on Mars.

Ironically, these always seem to be the most beautiful of all the specimens because equal to their beauty can be their poison. Not all, but some. They can carry some extremely beneficial xenodexi so that’s why we study them. On the other hand, some could kill you in seconds… So there’s that too.

I may even just document these and chuck them to avoid any kind of risk and maintain safety precautions. I mean I’m not seeing any signs of beneficial xenodexi, from what I can tell.

I think being in the vicinity of these may have been what caused my wild dreams last night…

I’m getting a little woozy now that I mention it. I’m sure it’s fine. I only have a few stellarflora left to document. I should probably head out soon though.

I looked down at my hand that was holding the paintbrush and it started to change colors. From blue to green, to red… Um yeah….

I got up and felt an immediate rush to my head that left me dizzy, and almost losing my balance, but I quickly regained control.

I looked at the wall of stellarflora that I had just made illustrations of. One by one they began to bloom before my eyes, on the paper. The illustrations started as a seed, grew into a flower, and slowly wilted away only to lay their seeds for the next illustration. Starting this infinite loop of a lifecycle on the wall.

This is interesting, but there’s no way this is happening. I look to the left and my paint brushes are one by one flying into the air. Spinning around and leaving a trail of gold glitter behind them as they flew.

I went to touch the suspended glitter dust and my finger turned pink. Then plastic. Then bigger. This effect traveled down my arm to my shoulder, to my torso then to my legs. Before I knew it I was 3 times as tall and was looking down at the fish-eye view of where my studio was.

“BOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSS!!!” I screamed.

“HAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLP”… As I lost control.

I stood there as the walls melted around me and revealed scenes from other parts of the universe… Parts were beautiful, parts were hilarious, some were unthinkable and some were heart-wrenching. All collaged together. Hours of experiences in seconds. Displaying the full essence of what is life. The feeling of the range of emotions was undefined. I couldn’t describe it other than simply pure adrenaline flooding my veins. I wanted to love, hate, fight, and save all at the same time. My only thought was my brain hadn’t evolved to process all of this at once. It was too much.

Above me, a nebula formed. Swirling lights around me and then spun down circling my body to the floor. Millions of shooting stars above as the ceiling had completely dissolved into the sky.

“Holy shit!!” Boss said as he entered the room.

“What happened here..” Boss reiterated trying to make some sense of the chaotic atmosphere that was my studio. He saw everything I saw but he wasn’t connected to it like I was.

“This is for your good..” He said as I saw him light a smoke signal flare.

The room filled with rainbow color gasses mixed with the ambient glowing stardust that was swirling around me like a wind tunnel and the corners of my vision started to darken. Slowly my legs began to numb as the ground got closer and closer until the room faded to darkness.

I opened my eyes and I was in one of the labs. Boss looking over my face. “Are you ok?” he asked.

Of course not, I thought.  What the hell just happened? “Fine,” I said… “I’m fine, everything is fine”

“Good let’s get you home. I think you had enough for today. Your levels seem sustainable and you should be back to your normal self in a few hours.” he said as brought me home.
