DN-015-Galatocoral

I got into the conservatories today with just a massive heap of samples to still go through. Honestly, there’s so much to do before the Zephyria mission.

Boss granted me an extension yesterday because of everything going on with the team excursion. He thought it was more important that I have some time with the other teams than keep me locked up in the labs. I love it down there though. I could stay in the labs for days. There’s something about discovery that’s just something else. The feeling of finding out a little piece of wonder that maybe someone else has also found but maybe not. Maybe you’re the only one in the universe that knows. Knows that reality, a little piece of life, of magic that is real and right in front of you.

I couldn’t ignore these glowing spheres they each had their own color, pattern, and texture to make them unique. They had tiny tentacles that flowed downwards but they weren’t meant for standing or behaving like arms or legs. It seems like they act more like a root base. These roots travel through their earth or sand-like substances, collecting data and life from the substances that encompass them. Their root-like tentacles grow towards each other and radiate a pulsating glow as they get closer to each other. Almost like they are trying to communicate through some kind of energy that I don’t quite understand.

After studying them a little closer it seems like these corolites do have the ability to manipulate energy and even small realities. I saw one change the color of the table briefly. While the other one escaped to the sink. To my surprise, as it glowed, the water from the faucet started to pour upwards towards the ceiling.

So it seems like they may have the capacity for energy manipulation, reality manipulation, and elemental control Xenodexi. Which, if we could somehow harness it, they would be helpful assets on a foreign planet.

The next on the table are these lumnicoraflori. They seem to have tentacles that reach into the earth but also upwards above ground. The tentacles are dense like stone almost but they still seem to move. The table was in a completely different arrangement yesterday and today. You would think it was a brand-new set. So they do move, it just seems like it might be at an extremely slow pace that it’s almost unnoticeable to the eye, at the regular speed of time.

As I was dissecting one to understand it better, I slipped and cut my hand. Blood started flowing everywhere. Then the strangest thing happened. As my blood touched the lumicorflora, that was sitting there, cut in half, the blood changed from red to a glowing blue. This glowing blue color seemed to know that something was wrong with me. It slowly made a small river travel back toward my hand… Which was terrifying. I wasn’t sure this was a great idea, but something told me it was ok. I let my hand down and let the blue river travel from my fingertips to my wound. Within seconds my entire cut glowed blue. As the blue glow faded and the blue liquid evaporated, my hand was healed.

We will make sure this one has a good environment for studying as well.
